Celebrating a New Era: Our Foundation's Change in Presidency
Marrijtje Molenhuis is Passing the Torche to Guus van den Elzen
With the start of a new year, we are excited to share that LKTBF has a new president at the helm. After three years of leadership from our founding president, Marrijtje Molenhuis, we are thrilled to welcome Guus van den Elzen as our new president.
Marrijtje and her fellow board members, Nienke de Vries and Tonnie de Jonge have been the driving force behind our foundation since its inception. Their dedication and passion have been integral to the success of our mission. Under Marrijtje her guidance, we have been able to build the foundation of LKTBF.
It was a great honour to be part of the board, building a movement to make this world a happier place through volleybal. I never expected how big it would become!
We are immensely grateful to Marrijtje for her contribution to our foundation. Without her vision, hard work, and dedication, we would not be where we are today. We are pleased to note that Marrijtje will continue to play a crucial role in our foundation, and we look forward to working together to achieve our mission.
Meanwhile, we are delighted to welcome Guus van den Elzen as our new president. Guus has been a part of our foundation for 2.5 years and has made a significant impact on our work.
During his volunteering, Guus runs our Volleyball With Refugees project, organized our first-ever Volleyball Marathon, hosted our first-ever LKTBF Youth Camp in Tanzania, and raised over 10k in donations.
Being part of the team and our growth from the beginning plus his experience in our projects make him an ideal candidate for the presidency.
I'm very excited to be part of the board. I loved the vision and projects of Let's Keep The Ball Flying from the first time Lesley told me about it.
Guus immediately started with his presidency hands-on. "I'm looking forward to working with the board and our volunteers on growing further but also structuring our organization and making LKTBF a stable organization which has maximum impact on the lives of the people we support. To achieve that most volleyball players and fans worldwide have to know about LKTBF."
Guus is already hard at work developing new structures and partnerships to take our foundation to the next level. We are confident that we will continue to grow under his leadership and make a difference in the world.
